This is a simple and short blog today!
Standard Collision, you will pay the deductible for a collision - regardless of who was at fault.
Broad Collision, you only pay the deductible if you are at fault for the accident.
What about a collision where I drive into a ditch? That's usually considered an at-fault accident. But we always verify each exact scenario with an underwriter.
What about if I was ticketed to be at fault for the accident, but I don't believe I was? You will have to address that with whoever has jurisdiction over the moving violation. The insurance company will more than likely follow what is determined by the court regarding the fault for an accident.
Which is more cheaper? There could be a slight savings by purchasing standard collision. Just ask us, we are happy to quote that coverage change for you.
If you have any questions regarding your collision coverage, please just send us a message and we would be happy to check into it for you!
